Not too many posts from me recently. What I lack in numbers I make up for in content, or at least that's what I tell myself. Lots going on around these parts here are some updates:
1. My principal is long gone. There is not a replacement as of yet. Not even any rumors going around. Strange. I have broken up 2 fights since my last post. I was accidently punched in the face during one and minorly injured my hand during the other. Both long stories.
2. My Dad's lung cancer is inoperable as a result of his health problems. They are going to try chemotherapy and radiation therapy. That might kill the cancer, if not he's got about 2 years.
3. My friend Danny is starting a band and has asked me to play bass in it. Any excuse to break out the B.C. Rich Warlock. It should be fun. We are thinking of doing punk with a lot of metal mixed in. Our singer's name is Damien. That's his real name. How fucking cool is that?
4. Heading down to my folks tomorrow. Kim and I will be at home on Saturday, and then we are heading up to NY to visit Kim's folks on Sunday.
5. Have recenly read a few of Roald Dahl's books. It definitely says something that these "children's books" hold up even to an adult reader. Easy to read, incredibly creative, and just plain fun. Check them out if you're in the mood for something lighter.
6. Today I received my grade for that education test I took last month. Virginia has a high passing score on the test. The test grading is strange- a passing score in VA is 161. I received a 175. This means that since I passed my school district will pay the $130 it cost me to take the test. It also means I am done with everything I needed to do to be certified to teach Government. Two more undergraduate History classes and I will also be endorsed in History/Social Science. That means I have realized my life-long dream of being underpaid after a ton of hard work. Seriously though- it feels good. I'm going to take those classes, but I don't have to. I have already met the state endorsement requirements.
Kim's fine, the cats are fine, other than my Dad everyone is doing just fine. Enjoy your holiday. Hugs and kisses.
